Recently, the Internet has been falling on the server and according to logs, it was no coincidence. Our server is subject to more attacks from the Internet than ever before. Despite the protection that I have implemented during 3 years of operation on the server, our server may not always fully resist attacks in the amount that appears these days. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) is a technique of attacking an Internet service or a site in which requests are swallowed and dropped, or at least inoperable and unavailable to other users. This attack is directed mainly to IP addresses of version 4, which are very vulnerable to these attacks. What does that mean? Someone sends a huge number of requests to our IP address and swallows it, so neither the site nor the server goes for a while (you log in to the realm of this address). Attacks are sometimes only momentary, and therefore the server may not even disconnect you just for a moment you lose connection and lose some data between the client-server. I do not know how to fully prevent such attacks, because it is primarily a bug in the IPv4 system itself. Please be patient and hopefully the attacks will move to higher positions of more visited servers, where they can do more damage than in our country. Trinity support itself has collapsed under these attacks, hopefully we can withstand the attack, we have the best on the team.
We are introducing more advanced methods for defending/protecting against attacks that should limit server unavailability, hopefully and pray.
