After long discussions with American support for TeamSpeak server, I managed to negotiate the best conditions for our server. We have a brand new license code providing us with almost lifetime use as NPL (Non-Profit License) and up to 512 slots, or 512 seats for you, our players. What are the conditions for us?
The TeamSpeak server must be constantly running at our address and the drahy.com domain. However, we have allowed exceptions up to a few weeks offline in case of server relocation (which is currently scheduled for May). As you used to, the server runs 24/7/365. That is, throughout the year, unless there is a failure of the Internet, electricity, etc. Which I do not expect. The TS3 server will be available primarily to players of our server and players from official servers, who can request the establishment of a permanent channel with a password and basic operator rights. TeamSpeak has gone through a few changes, which I will get acquainted with later, so that I know about all the news that has taken place since the last TS launch. The TeamSpeak server will never provide advertising or other support for advertising or solicitation of donations from players from our management. The same goes for the players themselves. We will restrict the base, public and default channels for this reason. We will also encourage players to create permanent channels.
We had questions here about why we choose TS and not other platforms and whether we are considering alternatives. For now, we will stay with TeamSpeak. Why? It is the most advanced tool for communicating more people and offers the best audio codecs in the current market and therefore will always be the first choice on our server. All channels are always set to the highest possible quality of sound transmission, and this also applies to new, future ones. TeamSpeak has one of the easiest settings for newcomers, it is clear and can be done even by a complete beginner. I don’t have any other platforms for this at the moment. If there's more interest in another, we can talk later. However, there are other, more important things on the agenda now, including the server startup itself.
Extension of support
Since players are a priority with the new server launch and we want them not to be afraid to ask us something and be in contact with us, we are introducing email support again and now also Live Chat directly on the website, which will be available gradually on all pages of the server, on the forum, etc. Please note that so far we are about three and the reactions may not be immediate. Support people will receive training and will know the answers to basic questions and will be in constant contact with me. In addition, we do it out of love for the game, the server and in our free time. However, I would like to mention a few facts. We do not force anyone to come back, we do not force anyone to play here or use any of our services. We just want to have fun and we want to offer the same to you, our past, future and other players, and it's quality and completely free. No purchases for real money or services. All services will be gradually reworked and completely free, even those paid in the past. We will only limit them so that they are not abused on your part and you do not overwhelm us with unnecessary questions about the recovery of many characters (which you may not even use), so there will be some restrictions for these reasons. After my calculations and tests, I should tighten the server only from my own resources and players will only be able to voluntarily contribute in the form of grants if they want to show us gratitude for our work, in no other way. However, this option will only be available on the main website and we will not mention it on other services such as the forum, TeamSpeak server, etc. It may be a step for the better and for the well-being of you who will be working with us.
PS: Please note that all services are now running and there will be time for further actions and updates later. If possible, save your questions until the server is completely online. Thank you for understanding.
