A meerkat on our server!
What animal? When? How? Is that an event? What's that for? Now what? Nothing like that. A stray meerkat is a new Linux operating system Ubuntu version 10.10 with the working name Maverick Meerkat, which can be translated as "a stray meerkat" (Source: zive.cz). Like any system, Linux is constantly evolving and much faster, faster and more stable than other operating systems. Our server runs on the Ubuntu server version 10.04 and therefore we will update to the latest version. In the years of Linux on this server, it has never happened to me that the server would sometimes crash due to the failure of the operating system or perhaps hinder the operation of the entire system and server even after a few weeks (!) without restarting the entire system and so Linux will always be the right choice of our server. The update is important for getting the latest technology and system security, speeding up some components, used daily and other latest technologies that today offers. However, it is a lengthy process and can last for several hours, but I believe that I will succeed sooner. Since you can’t wait for the server to be offline and we will deploy new system updates, I won’t drag it any further and I’m on it. I backed up everything in case of failure and there should be no problem when switching to the latest version of this operating system.

Our server and Geocaching
Many of you may have noticed what Geocaching is for its duration. Geocaching is a worldwide game using modern GPS techniques to find hidden treasures. The basic idea is to search for hidden caches, called caches, and share the experience of their hunting through the Internet. Geocaching is played by people of all ages with a strong sense of community and environment. I think that because of the connection of an online game like this one with geocaching, it is appropriate to introduce it. On the server, you are constantly looking for some mobs to kill, and when you find them, you get rewards and complete tasks. Geocaching is similar. Log in with a nickname, find caches in your area and you are already looking. You must search discreetly, and as soon as you find the cache, write down your visit on a piece of paper with the nickname under which you registered on the site Geocaching and share your experiences on the Internet while at the same time attributing the ones you have already visited. Some are very hidden and not easy to find. Some caches have degrees of difficulty and need diving or climbing equipment or guessing logical puzzles. It's a game for the whole world. Some caches are larger and have an object inside that you take and return another, chosen by you, of the same value or higher. In each of the places there is usually some historical information about the surroundings and the goal is mainly to learn from the place and visit it, but the search is the most fun and sometimes the most complicated. However, once you find the cache, you must return it to its original location intact with your extra nickname. There are over a million cashiers in the world and, for example, only in the vicinity of Prague there are several dozen, maybe even hundreds. It is a great game for all players on our server when the server will be offline or you will go to some meeting and you will not have anything to do there. At the same time, some players will be forced to pull their heels out of the house and maybe later we will introduce some material prizes in the game. You can also create a cache at an interesting location, if the administrators of the service approve it. The goal should not only be to look for the box, but as a rule, this happens. Adding Video for a summary with the most basic information and instructions on how to do it.
