For some, maybe: "Well, he finally started it, it took!", but for me, finally rest and, above all, a successful throw of the server with everything, as planned, although the time there has kind of wavered, but as they say: Better late than never. I want to apologize to you, especially to those big addicts who sit down as soon as I write this news (and that I have something to do at 3 in the morning). I'm tired, so I'll be brief. There's so much news, I'll break it down into a few reports. So that you do not think that we were just hanging out, here is a diary of how everything was.
Dear Diary...
Yes, this part could still be characterized. But to the point. On Friday, I was supposed to finally get so much of the expected server box. She really arrived on Friday. Of course, I still built it last night and put it back together. The next day, when it looked like the transfer action would start, I found that I had a bad download of the Debian 4 Linux distribution, which I started downloading again (12 GB), it was right away, but nothing ever goes as it should and here it was double. The Linux distribution did not recognize 3 components from the new box (too new accessories) during the installation, so we were looking for a solution. The only one was to install the CD image (unstable). Unstable or unstable, however, applies here in a completely different sense than it does with windows. For Linux, the following scale is: Stable - Test - Unstable - In development - Alpha version (very unstable) - long nothing - Windows. So I tried the test-unstable version, which looked very good from the beginning. We moved on to Sunday. On Sunday morning I started moving the server and everything around. Unfortunately, I found that I was missing a crossover cable to connect and so I had to go to the store. On the way, however, I met with my eternal bad luck a less adaptable ethnicity in the number of a few tens and cable with a few things was taken from me. I had to buy it again. And it finally worked! The next day, I managed to start the server, but here there was an unstable version of the distribution and the server fell every 2 minutes. I was at school until 17:00 And so I found out later. I started to solve this and came up with an unrecoverable problem with the unstable version of the distribution. The only solution was to switch to another. It's Tuesday and the players are very nervous about what's going on and in some places even aggressive. My ICQ has more people at once in ignorance than in a normal contact sheet. I'm sorry, but I'm dealing with this, and the questions of when the server will go will not help me. These players will be taken into account during events that they may not be able to attend, etc. It is evening and I am starting to download Ubuntu Linux. Of course, a stable version only with what I need and what I use, so the server will get some extra performance. Downloading is slow on the side of FTP linux and I have the flu. The next day I feel terrible and so I'm not even going to school, I'm trying to do something on the server. I'm high and I'm starting to configure the server. Everything went well and everything went as it should. The server has not crashed for more than 3 hours, if it crashes, it restarts automatically after 6 seconds, I am still trying to figure out how to make it leave you in the world of those 6 seconds and the server restarts without your knowledge and you do not know anything, so the server will be online forever! But there's still time. I have to get out of bed, but I can't sleep, so I work on the site. The site is under construction and so all things may not work yet, but the main ones like creating an account etc. should go. In the next news we will talk about repairs, news and events that await us in the near future. Now do not hesitate and bring as many people as possible, we can carry at least 250 online on 8 GB RAM!
